Wedding Quilt

Monday After the Wedding Blues!

I knew this day was coming. I'm sitting here in a quiet house all by myself. The table cloths are all washed and folded. I've caught up on my mountains of laundry. The last of the toys has made it back to the Grandma Room. The only place I'm avoiding is that empty bedroom downstairs. Soon enough I will repaint and turn it into another guest room. I posted some pictures to the Slide Show on this page. I took absolutely no pictures on Friday, but I know lots of others did. I will have more to share later. The newlyweds are making their way down I-5 towards Sacramento. Wednesday they will make the last leg of their journey to Camp Pendleton.

HARVEST FAIR

Yesterday we had great fun at the Saltese Ward Harvest Fair held at the home of Steve & Nancy Holdaway. Breanna was excited to go when we told her there would be hay rides. Bro. Holdaway even started up his old Model A truck and gave rides on the bed of that! Breanna & Grandpa had a great time.

Wedding Festivities

Friday the 13th!

A couple of weeks ago Stacy Julian had a bridal shower for Jenna that was just for the family...Grandmas, Moms and sisters. On this day I learned sopmething that I did not know before. Deric proposed to Jenna on Friday the 13th of June 2008. My father proposed to my mother on Friday the 13th of June 1952! I think that is pretty cool!

OKAY...I'M READY TO GO AGAIN

I guess it has been long enough since I added anything to my blog. I'm still pretty bummed that I lost so many important pictures. I can't dwell much longer...they are gone.

I have been extremely busy. The summer has flown by. Here it is September already...only 23 days until the wedding. I finished the quilt this afternoon and take it to the quilter in the morning. I finished all the table runners and one of the little girls skirts. (I'm almost done with the other one!) I think my to-do list is shrinking fairly fast. Katie gave a bridal shower last Thursday evening and Stacy Julian is having one this Saturday morning. We've hit a few little snags, but in general, everything is coming together nicely.

As long as I keep myself totally busy, I don't dwell too much on the finality of it all. A whole chapter in my life will be over. The child-raising years went by all-together too quickly. I've had children in my home for nearly 35 years. This is just a tad-bit harder than I thought it would be. I've had children get married and leave before, but there was always somebody here to keep me busy and needed. Watch out yellow Corvette here we come! (Ask Jim about it!)
